Abby is 2!!!

Well, not only did we send one child to kindergarten today, but Abby turned 2. It has been a big day at the Johnson house. Here are some fun things about our Abby and some pictures from our day. We're having her party on Saturday!

• She loves her food. Hence the donut (or no-no's as she calls them) breakfast today.
• She loves to get slushes at Sonic and QT.
• She loves to run everywhere.
• She loves to get in her bed with her pacis.
• She also loves to snuggle with her daddy.
• She is into mimi's right now. That is what she calls blankets. Don't know where that came from, but she is dead set on blankets being mimi's.
• She likes to wrap her baby dolls up in her mimi's. It's so precious.
• She loves shoes.
• She loves to play with her brother.
• She is quite opinionated about what she wants and doesn't want. She won't hesitate to say, "No!"
• She likes to do the motions to "Wheels on the Bus!" and "Happy and You Know It."
• She does not like creepy crawly things.
• She does not like things to be on her feet. Like grass and such.
• She likes to eat breakfast VERY soon after she wakes up. Usually she asks for Daddy and Nathan and then it's, "I eat!"
• She enjoys splashing in the bath tub and the swimming pool. She will jump off the side of the pool to Clay or I.
• She loves to push her strollers around and her shopping cart.
• She also likes purses and bags. She puts them up on her shoulder and tells us all, "Bye!" as she walks into the other room.

You are such a precious girl and such an awesome blessing to our family. God has been so gracious to share you with us. We love you Abby Leigh!!

First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Today was Nathan's first day of kindergarten!!! He had a great day being back at Discovery School. He was not thrilled to get up this morning, but once we got moving he was very excited. He was still excited when I picked him up so I think that's a good sign. There were lots of familiar faces from his class last year which is fun and lots of new friends to meet too. Between Richland Hills and ACU there are already several families in the class that we know. It's going to be a great year for him. We love you Nathan and can't wait to see all you learn! Saturday night after church we went to Clay's grandparents for a little while. Nathan apparently has learned how to drive the electric wheelchair when he's been over there without us. So he just hopped in it and started cruising around the house. Towards the end of the night he got Abby in there with him. She thought it was SO funny!

3rd Post of the Day!

Well we have made it through the first week of having to be at school from 8:30-2:30 all 3 days. We are exhausted! At least the kids and I are. I had 3 workdays this week training and getting my room ready for meet the teacher conferences. All is going well. The teacher who had my room before me left most of her stuff in great condition and ready to go. So that's been a great help. Tues and Wed Abby had no nap. So that was really fun. She went to bed at 7 last night and I had to wake her up at 7:45 this morning, while at the same time trying to drag Nathan out of bed. Next week will be easier. Nathan starts Kinder on Tues. and I only have to work 2 half days with conferences. So we can get home for Abby to nap.

I had Nathan's meet the teacher conference today. We already know his teachers because they were his PreK teachers, but it made it a little more real for him to go out and see the room and explore all the new stuff they have out in kindergarten. One of the biggest changes is that they are going to call the teachers by their last names instead of first names. Apparently that's the kindergarten way. It's going to be quite different for all of us who knew them last year. I can't believe Nathan is entering his school years already. Where did my baby boy go? He still likes to snuggle with mommy every night. So I'm going to hold onto that as long as I can!

Sweet Love!

Nathan and Abby are so precious together. They really enjoy playing together. Most times when Abby wakes up the first thing she asks is, "Where's Na-Na?" and if Abby sleeps late Nathan wants to go in there and get her. Nathan never sleeps late so we don't have to worry about what she would do if that happens. They are sweet, sweet and I can't wait to see how their bond grows with them. Here's a sweet photo. I'm not sure if she was just wanting to love her brother or if she just wanted to get his snack!

Cedar Creek Lake

This last weekend we went with our friends to their lake house at Cedar Creek Lake. It was so fun and a very relaxing way to spend our last weekend before work really got going. The kids had a great time. Tubing, swimming, and golf cart rides. It was great!

Good News!!!

Good news, everyone, I found my camera at the China Queen!!! They had misplaced it when I got there, but they knew exactly what I was talking about. It just took them a while to find it. Here's a rather lengthy slideshow of our Atlanta trip.

Fun trip to Peachtree City!!

The kids and I had a great time last week visiting Georgia and our friends. Nathan and Ansley play like no time has passed since they saw each other. Abby was constantly looking for Char Char! We celebrated Ansley's bday at Chuck E. Cheese's on Tuesday and went swimming that afternoon. Wednesday we went to the Atlanta Children's Museum. SO FUN! Nathan loved the Moon Sand. After the museum we went across the street and ate lunch and let the kids run around in the park. We also saw a cool water show in the Olympic Ring fountain. Each night we went on awesome golf cart rides, but the last night we went all the way to Marble Slab!!! Then we went to the park and feed a group of fiesty geese. They started stampeding us when we started walking towards them. Thursday morning we played and had a yummy lunch on the way back to the airport. It was a fun trip and we look forward to going again. I would love to post pictures, but I'm having a little trouble finding my camera right now. Please pray that I find it.

In other news, I am going back to work this week. Wed. starts my new teacher orientation at Discovery School, where Nathan went last year for PreK and will go this year for Kinder. I am teaching a 5 year old PreK class 3 days a week. Abby will also be going there 3 days. This will be her first time to go to "school". Please pray for our family as we make this transition. I know it will be fine, but I'm starting to get nervous about getting everything done that needs to be done. I'm also curious to see how Abby will react to being in such a different environment, rather than with her mommy all day everyday.

Hopefully I'll find my camera and post some pics soon. I'm headed to the Chinese restaurant we ate at last week to see if I left it there.

Abby's First Haircut!

Well even though we've been at home, we've still been really busy. This week Abby turned 23 mos old and got her first haircut. She started out not being excited AT ALL. I had to hold her in my lap. I was really surprised she was so hesitant. All 4 of us go to Mrs. Beckey to get our hair done. So Abby has spent alot of time in her shop over the last 2 years. I mean Nathan and Clay get a haircut every 3-4 weeks. So it was not an unfamiliar place, but she still started out a little unsure. By the end though she was fine and headed straight to the candy jar. She definitely liked that part.

Over the weekend Parsh was here visiting. She is looking pregnant for sure now. Only 8 more days until we find out if it's a boy or a girl and we can't wait. Nathan came up with a name for the baby. He decided on Heyyouraduck Quacker would be good. Pretty good, huh? He insisted Abby's name was FuFu the entire time I was pregnant and when we decided on a name for her he called her Baby Abby FuFu. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff, but it keeps us laughing.

The kids and I are headed off to Atlanta here in a few hours to visit our dear friends Jennifer, Ansley, & Charlotte. Abby has been walking around the house all day saying, "Char Char! Tomorrow is Ansley's 6th birthday. So it will be a celebration day! Here's a sweet one of my babies snuggling together before church yesterday morning.

Fun in the Fort!

With us having an entire week at home, our kids are using their imaginations! I love this kind of play. Monday afternoon Nathan built a fort out of the sofa in our living room. Well when Abby woke up from her nap, she of course wanted in the fort. This didn't go over so well with Nathan. He did not want her in his stuff. Lucky for us we have a HUGE couch. So we turned it into a 2 room fort. So Abby had her side with her baby doll and the rest of her stuff and Nathan had his side with his stuff. They had a great time and I got to cook dinner without them under my feet!
