Our Shelter

We have been running a shelter here for the last 9 days. My sister and Mallory left Houston on 9/11 to get away from Hurricane Ike and traveled to my mom & dad's house where they spent a week. They came to our house on Friday, 9/19. We thought it would probably only be for a few days, but it turned out to be a nice long visit. We had alot of fun, but it was busy! We celebrated 3 birthdays(Matthew, Marcia, & Clay), had one broken down truck, ran one 5k, cooked dinners, took one kid to golf lessons, one child to gymnastics, one child with fever, school, work, and still managed to have a great time with lots of laughs during their visit. Matthew actually got to come and visit them while they were here. So that was good. Matthew left on Friday and Marcia and Mallory left this afternoon. Here are some fun shots from our visit.

Happy Birthday, Maf! We celebrated with Chicken Express and a mint chocolate chip ice cream cake.

These two are going to have so much fun. Abby tells us all the time that Mallory is her best girlie!

These two LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Mallory. Nathan is so sweet with her and always tried to make her happy if she needs cheering up. He had a blast running around the house and letting her chase him.

Holding on to Summer

We have had such a fun summer. We hate to see it end. Yesterday we went to the local waterpark for one last day. It was great! We went with our friends Dana, Joey, Jacob, & their Auntie Laura.

Abby's 1st Day of School

Abby started back to pre school this week. She is in the pink room this year. Which she LOVES! Her teachers are Mrs. Melanie & Mrs. Melodie. How's that for confusing? She is very glad to be back with her friends from last year. She really enjoys seeing Sofia, Katie, & Owen. There is a whole group of little blondies in her class. She has been very happy to go every day and does not cry at all when I drop her off at teacher's kids before school starts. This has made our mornings much happier.

She does still have her moody moments, though.

This is her friend Matthew. They were in the Orange Room last year together. He is not quite 3 yet, though so he is not in her class this year. They still love to play together and sometimes become quite brother/sistery. His brother is Nathan's friend Mikey and his mom teaches with me at DS. So they have spent alot of time together this summer.

Abby's Princess Tea Party!

Abby loves princess and she loves having tea parties. So last Saturday we had a princess tea party for her birthday. Here are some of the highlights. I'm sure you can tell make-up was a HUGE hit!

I have a serious problem remembering candles for my kids' birthday parties. I forgot them at Nathan's this year, too. I will have to remember to put them at the top of my list next year!
