Nathan' s Golf Camp!

Nathan went to golf camp this year for the 2nd year at Sky Creek Ranch. He had a great week! He had his friends Mikey and Joey with him this year. On their final day of camp they played 4 holes out on the course. Nathan scored a 28! The leaders tied with a 27. So we are very proud of him. He really enjoys playing the game and we hope he sticks with it. We may actually have to become a golfing family. Abby seems to be very interested as well.

Abby's Swimming Lessons

Abby took swimming lessons the first two weeks of June. It was not a happy time for her or for me. While she hated every minute of being in the actual lesson, she did learn how to swim and did really great! Each lesson involved her crying for me or Nathan to rescue her and us going out to wait in the car until the lesson was over. It was loads of fun!

This was towards the beginning of the first day. She let Mrs. Cheryl take her all around the pool and right when she got in front of me, she flashed her smile right out me.

The day swimming lessons were over Clay took Abby to Target to pick out a toy. He made a deal with her that on the last day they would have a special Daddy/Abby date to go pick out whatever she wanted.

She chose this cute Disney Princess phone/answering machine. Clay said she was very thoughtful and gave great consideration before she settled on the phone.

Yeah Abby! Hopefully swimming lessons will be calmer next year!!

Houston Trip

The day Nathan got out of school the kids and I headed to Houston. It was time to see our Mallory and do some visiting. Clay was there working when we arrived. So he and I left the kids with Marcia and Matthew and went to dinner with his boss and his wife downtown at Morton's Steakhouse. It was delicious. The next morning we took Clay to the airport to come home and then we went to visit my friend Meredith and her new baby, Hayes. He is a little peanut! Abby and I enjoyed holding him.

Abby totally crashed on the way back to Marcia's house. She lives completely on the other side of town from Mere. So it was a good little rest for Abby. Nothin' like napping with a giant box of goldfish. Meredith really wanted to get rid of these goldfish. So Abby gladly took them off her hands.

That night after we got home we made cupcakes! The kids loved it. Especially the icing.

This is how Abby eats all things with icing. Donuts, cookies, cupcakes, etc. She could care less about the cake or cookie part, but LOVES the icing!

Abby's Zoo Day!

Abby loves going to the FW zoo. Nathan is over it. We have been going since he was 1 and I think he's had his fill. Given that, I decided I needed to take Abby one day before Nathan got out of school and before it got to hot! We spent a great day there with our friends Dana, Jacob, & Nick.

And last, but not least, the Flamingoes! Abby waited all day to see the flamingoes. She loves them!!! Maybe because they are pink!?

We have a 2nd Grader!

Yes, I know school ended almost a month ago, but what can I say? My plan for things to slow down and be less busy this summer hasn't happened. Nathan had a great year in 1st grade. We couldn't be more proud of all that he learned and the way that he continues to make good choices at school. Nathan made the honor roll every six weeks and also qualified for the advanced academics program! Perhaps his biggest accomplishment was finally getting perfect attendance the last six weeks of school!!! We were so excited to see that ribbon come home in his report card. Strep throat plagued him repeatedly all year, hence all the absences. Hopefully next year we won't have that problem.

We love you Nathan and can't wait to see what 2nd grade holds for you!

Nathan had to go to school on Memorial Day for a bad weather day. So we all went up and ate lunch with him. He chose Subway for us to bring to him.

For their end of the year party they had the ice cream man come and give everyone an ice cream cone. Mmmmm!
