More of Day 7 & Our Trip Home

I just realized I had a few more cruise pictures on my camera. Saturday night before dinner Abby just crashed. She was all ready to go and then stopped for half a second and fell sound asleep on Clay. She stayed that way for a while and even slept part of the way while we carried her down to the dining room.

Here is our waiter, Oswin with the kids. He was super great and worked very hard every night to get Abby to give him "five". I think she did it one night, but this is as close as the would get on the last night.

Oswin made this mouse out of a napkin for Nathan. Nathan named it Mr. Cheesey. He is still around and has even made it to school for all to see!

Fun Times!

Sunday turned out alot different than we had anticipated. We were scheduled to arrive back in Galveston at 7am. Unfortunately, the Port of Galveston was closed that morning due to heavy fog. We didn't get in to the dock until 12:45. Then it was 5:00 before we got to our car. After stopping back at Marcia's to get all our Christmas stuff, eating dinner, & several potty stops later, we finally made it home at midnight that night. It was a long day. We were very glad to get home that night. We all just fell into the bed. We had a fun trip and made lots of fun memories, but as they say, "There's No Place Like Home!"

Days 6 and 7

Day 6 and 7 of our trip were cruising days. We spent out time playing miniature golf, ping pong, swimming, laying out, eating, & relaxing more. Clay & Ryan also spent some time in the casino. The kids got to spend some time with Grandad & Mimi in the children's swimming area. Grandad even went down the water slide with Abby! One afternoon we even got to watch a coast guard helicopter land on the ship. It was super windy so he had to make several attempts before actually landing. It was need to watch, but unfortunately, they were coming to pick up a sick person who needed to get to shore ASAP. The kids also enjoyed going to Adventure Ocean every night after dinner. This was the kids area where they had activities planned for them all day long.

Coast Guard

Day 5: Costa Maya, Mexico

Day 5 we docked at the port of Costa Maya, Mexico. Not alot to see or do there due to Hurricane Dean that came ashore in Sept '07, but we had a fun day. We saw alot of interesting people in the town who wanted to sell us massages, beer, & a spot on their beach. We even met a guy who was selling some really cool jewelry and shirts who was from Austin. He gave us the complete lowdown on the whole area. He was a hoot to listen to and had some crazy hair that he kept propped back with his eyeglasses and loved to rearrange all throughout our conversation. After a short walk through the town we headed back to the port. Here there were tons of shops and a few restaurants. We ate at a delicious place! Alyssa had a lobster burrito and I had a shrimp burrito that were to die for. We thoroughly enjoyed them. We also had a blast laughing with the kids at all the funny stuff they did. Abby put on quite a show dancing in her seat. The DJ had some great music going!

Day 4: Port of Roatan, Honduras and New Year's Eve!

Day 4 of our cruise was our favorite day. We docked early that morning in the port of Roatan, Honduras. I have to say I was a little unsure of this Honduras thing. All I knew about Honduras was that the church used to go there on mission trips. Well, I was pleasantly surprised. We drove in a bus through beautiful green hills and jungles and then came to an incredible white sands, calm beach. The sand was great and the water even better. It was so calm that the kids were able to just play and play without getting smashed by waves every 5 seconds. It was awesome! It was such a relaxing day for all.

Clay & Ryan had so much fun snorkeling. They were able to go out and dive deep down to see all kinds of fish and sea life. Clay said it was so incredible.

Yes, the water was that clear and the fish swam that close to the shore. I saw some fish swim right over my feet one time.

Clay sat his drink down on the cliffs to take some pictures. All of a sudden people were yelling at him because this iguana had climbed down the side of the cliff and was eating the pineapple off his drink!

The bus ride back to the boat. We sadly had to get back on the bus early in the afternoon to get back to the ship. This was how Nathan decided to go home. I'm not sure why Ryan is clutching Alyssa's beach bag like a little old lady holds onto her purse.

That night was New Year's Eve. It was also one of our formal nights. Abby was super excited about wearing her "fancy" dress. She still asks to wear it. She does love to be fancy. We ate dinner in the dining room and then went to the hot tub. The hot tub became a nightly ritual. The kids just loved it!The 4 of us were actually exhausted that night from the beach day. So we weren't even awake when to ring in the new year, but from what we hear it was pretty fun on the boat.

They had the dining room decked out with hats and party blowers. The kids had so much fun with those. We heard alot of party blowers during that meal.
